Why is Honeycutt & McGuire transitioning to AA&T Group?

Several factors influenced this decision. Key legacy staff members retired in 2024, in addition to Jack Honeycutt retiring to spend time with family and pursue personal goals. Becoming part of AA&T Group ensures that you continue to receive the level of care you deserve while the remaining staff focuses on a smooth transition. And even though Jack is retired, William McGuire is still here leading the Honeycutt & McGuire team members you know and trust. And those team members will be empowered to serve you more through the resources that AA&T Group brings to Farmville.

Will my services change?

Your current services will continue, and you will also gain access to AA&T Group’s additional resources and expertise, including advanced technology and a broader range of financial and advisory services for personal and business needs.

What happens to my records after Honeycutt & McGuire transitions?

Honeycutt & McGuire does not keep original documents but provides copies of all work performed (e.g., tax returns, financial statements, payroll reports). By signing a release form your records will be transferred to AA&T Group Farmville and remain accessible to the Honeycutt & McGuire team members who will continue your services. If you need copies, please contact the office at (434) 392-3159 before or during the transition.

Bob and Debbie Patten are the co-founders of AA&T Group, bringing a powerful combination of discipline, service, and entrepreneurial spirit to every client relationship. Bob began his career as a U.S. Marine Corps officer, where he developed the precision, leadership, and mission-first mindset that now define his work as a CPA and tax strategist. After retiring from military service, Bob pursued his accounting career with the same dedication he brought to the Corps—becoming a trusted advisor to individuals, families, and businesses across Virginia.

Debbie is a seasoned entrepreneur with a passion for building and leading organizations that serve people well. She has successfully founded and operated Christian schools, daycares, and tax preparation businesses, drawing on her deep expertise in operations, leadership, and client care. Together, Bob and Debbie have built AA&T Group into a firm that helps people thrive—providing tax and financial solutions that are as personalized as they are strategic. Their combined strengths allow them to serve clients with both structure and heart, meeting each person where they are and guiding them forward with clarity and confidence.
