Meet the Team

  • Robert "Bob" Patten, CPA

    CO-FOUNDER

    Robert “Bob” Patten is co-founder of AA&T Group and a Certified Public Accountant. A retired Major in the United States Marine Corps, Bob brings decades of leadership, discipline, and real-world business experience to his work with clients.

    Raised in a military family, Bob grew up across the United States and abroad, developing an early appreciation for adaptability, perspective, and respect for others. After earning degrees in Business Management and Computer Science, he fulfilled a lifelong goal of becoming a Marine Corps officer, serving globally and leading teams through complex challenges.

    Following his military career, Bob and his wife Deborah built and operated multiple businesses, including six children’s academies alongside their CPA practice. Having personally navigated growth, setbacks, and scaling challenges, Bob understands firsthand the pressures business owners face. He believes success requires both resilience and the wisdom to seek expert guidance at the right time.

    Bob is a member of the AICPA and VSCPA.

  • Deborah "Debbie" Patten

    CO-FOUNDER

    Deborah “Debbie” Patten co-founded AA&T Group alongside Bob Patten and brings decades of entrepreneurial leadership and tax experience to the firm.

    Before focusing fully on taxes, Debbie successfully founded and operated a portfolio of children’s education centers across Virginia. Building and scaling multiple businesses gave her firsthand experience with the realities of payroll, compliance, staffing, cash flow, and growth — insight that continues to shape her approach to client service today.

    At AA&T Group, Debbie plays a central role in tax preparation, client communication, and firm leadership. She is deeply committed to helping individuals and business owners feel confident, informed, and supported in their financial decisions.

    Her background as both a business owner and tax professional allows her to understand not just the numbers, but the people and responsibilities behind them. Debbie believes strong relationships, practical guidance, and steady leadership are the foundation of long-term success.

  • William P. McGuire, CPA

    FIRM MANAGER

    William P. McGuire, CPA, serves as Firm Manager of AA&T Group, overseeing firm operations and supporting the delivery of tax and advisory services. He joined AA&T Group in 2025, bringing more than 30 years of public accounting experience and extensive leadership expertise.

    William began his career in 1993 and became a shareholder of Honeycutt & McGuire CPAs in 2003, later serving as Managing Shareholder for nearly two decades. In that role, he guided the firm through regulatory, operational, and industry changes while maintaining a strong commitment to client service and professional standards.

    His technical focus includes tax compliance and planning for individuals and closely held businesses, particularly in the construction, timber, and service industries. Clients value his steady leadership, practical guidance, and ability to explain complex tax matters clearly and calmly.

    William earned his degree from Longwood University and is a member of the AICPA and VSCPA.

  • Teresa Davis, CPA

    SENIOR TAX ADVISOR

    Teresa Davis, CPA, brings over 30 years of accounting experience across both industry and public practice. She began her career managing accounting and finance departments for service and manufacturing businesses before transitioning to public accounting, where she has spent the past two decades serving individuals and organizations.

    Teresa provides tax and accounting services to individuals, corporations, partnerships, LLCs, and nonprofit organizations. She has particular expertise in estate and trust accounting, estate planning support, compliance filings, and business advisory services. She also assists clients with QuickBooks setup and ongoing support, helping ensure accurate and efficient financial systems.

    Her background in both operational finance and public accounting allows her to understand not only tax compliance, but also the day-to-day realities business owners face. Teresa earned her degree from the University of Richmond and is a member of the AICPA and VSCPA.

  • Christopher W. Hill, MBA

    FRACTIONAL CFO

    Christopher Hill serves as a Fractional CFO for AA&T Group clients, providing strategic financial leadership to growing businesses. He partners directly with founders and executive teams to bring clarity, structure, and forward-looking insight to financial operations.

    His work includes forecasting, cash flow management, financial modeling, performance analysis, and capital planning. Christopher helps founders move beyond compliance and historical reporting into proactive decision-making — equipping them with the visibility and strategy needed to scale confidently and protect long-term value.

    In addition to his client advisory work, Christopher oversees human resources and workforce management for AA&T Group, giving him practical insight into building and managing professional organizations.

    He holds an MBA and has completed advanced studies in economics, artificial intelligence, and finance through Peking University, IBM, and Harvard. His background as an entrepreneur and investor informs his practical, results-oriented approach to advisory work.

  • Kimberly "Kim" Noehren

    OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

    Kimberly Noehren serves as Office Administrator at AA&T Group and is often the first point of contact for clients. She joined the firm in 2012 and has grown into a central leadership role within the firm’s operations.

    Kim works closely with clients and staff to coordinate communication, manage workflow logistics, and ensure that expectations are met from start to finish. Her organization, responsiveness, and attention to detail help keep the firm running smoothly during both routine operations and busy tax seasons.

    Because of her long tenure with the firm, Kim has developed strong relationships with clients and a deep understanding of firm processes. She is committed to creating a professional, welcoming environment and ensuring that every client interaction reflects the firm’s high standards of service.

  • Lidiya Asare

    ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SPECIALIST

    Lidiya Asare joined AA&T Group in 2024 and serves as an Administrative Support Specialist, supporting daily operations and helping ensure a seamless experience for both clients and staff. She plays an important role in coordinating communication, organizing workflows, and maintaining the systems that keep engagements moving efficiently.

    With over a decade of customer service experience across multiple industries, Lidiya brings a people-first mindset and strong attention to detail to her work. Her background has equipped her to anticipate client needs, resolve issues thoughtfully, and create a supportive, professional environment.

    She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from George Mason University, which informs her thoughtful and relationship-driven approach. Lidiya is committed to helping clients feel heard, supported, and confident throughout their experience with AA&T Group.

    STAFF ACCOUNTANT

    Rachel Bumgarner is a Staff Accountant at AA&T Group, providing tax and accounting services to both individuals and businesses. She joined the firm in 2025 and contributes to tax preparation, research, and client support across a variety of engagements.

    Rachel began her public accounting career at a mid-sized firm in White Plains, New York, where she gained experience in tax compliance, research, and client service within a fast-paced environment. She brings a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to her work and is committed to helping clients navigate tax matters with clarity and confidence.

    She holds a Bachelor of Science in Professional Accounting from the State University of New York at Oneonta and is currently pursuing her CPA licensure. Rachel is dedicated to ongoing professional development and staying current with evolving tax regulations to best serve clients.

  • Caitlin Faris

    TAX ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

    Caitlin joined AA&T Group in 2026 as a Tax Administrative Assistant, supporting the firm during tax season with document organization, client record management, and administrative coordination. She plays a key role in ensuring client information is processed accurately and efficiently.

    Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting at Longwood University, Caitlin is building a strong foundation in tax and core business principles. She is also a certified IRS VITA volunteer, providing free tax assistance to individuals and families in the Farmville community.

    Caitlin is drawn to accounting because of its practical impact on people’s lives. She understands that tax season can feel overwhelming and values being part of a team that makes the process organized, clear, and less stressful for clients.

We operate on a national scale, but Virginia is our original home. We provide services to clients across the Commonwealth, as well as the Washington D.C. metro area, and a dozen other states.
